Ross is a native of Wentzville, MO and attended Holt High School while playing for the Prospects during the summer. After starring for Missouri State University, Ross was drafted as the 6th overall player in the 2007 Major League draft. A 10-game winner in 2012, Ross pitched in parts of 7 seasons with the Nationals. He has also played for the Rangers, Braves and Indians.
